Letting it go

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

When 2023 started we had some pretty big plans. We wanted to expand the sheep flock and double the size of the garden. We were making great progress in doing both those things.

Midway through the year our area was hit by drought harď. Our farm we had been renting was up for sale and our future was in the air. The owners decided that they would kick us out in the end of June. So we started the property hunt.

July came and went and nothing, lots of possibilities but nothing where we could keep our animals. So we sold the sheep flock. I cried for 2 days after that. I felt defeated but I still held on to hope that Yahweh would provide.

August came and I started to pack up the items in the house that belonged to us. We purchased a 30ft travel trailer. Made arrangements to park it at a friends place for winter. Bought a shed for storage and said good bye to the farm dream for now.

My biggest takeaway for 2023 is that if it is Yah’s will and plan you can’t change it. If it isn’t what he wants for you then be prepared to loose it. This goes for friendships as well. If they don’t work to shape your walk then be prepared to let them go even if those friendships are a decade old. If they don’t fit His plan they will be removed.

We are looking forward into 2024 with a new hope and wonderment. We are excited to see just where Yahweh will put us. Now that we can take our home with us wherever he leads. The possibilities are endless.
