About
The Full Story
My Name is Kimberley and I am happily married to the love of my life for almost 20 years. I live in the Shuswap area of British Columbia Canada. I started sewing over 40 years ago and love to do what I do.
I started From the Mountain Meadow to be able to source quality clothing and as a way for myself to stay busy, but also because I feel that it is something Yahweh is calling me to do to honor Him.
I have a sincere love for SLOW fashion and do my utmost to source eco friendly fabrics and natural fibers to make my garments. Today's fashion industry is very into the fast fashion and things are created to be mass produced; which then draws a very thin line of quality versus quantity.
I have sewn everything, from hemming pants to altering bridal gowns. I have done it all. But my passion is making clothing for children and adults that will last. That way Big sister can have a favorite dress and a few years later it can be passed on to the younger sibling. Boys overalls and pants that are reinforced in the knees so that they have a chance to wear them out not grow out of them.
Our family downsized from a 5 bedroom farm house sheep farm to living full time in our RV. Yahweh has shown us that we can do so much more with very little. I do all my sewing in the trailer and all the blogging from the trailer. Our family loves to travel and we would love to be able to travel full time and still do what we love to do. My husband loves to serve others and can do just about any job. Our 16 yr old is just like his father and always ready to help someone out. We are not sure what Yahweh has in store for our family or where he will send us. But you can be sure the FTMM (From the Mountain Meadow) will be along for the journey.
